Art Print of an Oil and Acrylic Painting By Romani American Artist J.A. George AKA; The GYPSY
Many of us would like to be Toad in the famous book by Kenneth Grahame , Wind in the Willows,. Toad exclaims to Ratty,
“There’s real life for you, embodied in that little cart. The open road, the dusty highway, the heath, the common, the hedgerows, the rolling downs! Camps, villages, towns, cities! Here to-day, up and off to somewhere else to-morrow! Travel, change, interest, excitement! The whole world before you, and a horizon that’s always changing! ”
The Vardo (also wagon, living wagon, van, and caravan) is a traditional horse-drawn wagon used by Romani people as their home. This painting captures the essence of the Gypsy Lifestyle.
“Not All Who Wander Are Lost” -J.R.R. Tolkien-
Ah but to be lost in such a location where the trees are your walls the sky is your ceiling, the grass beneath your feet is your floor and the sound of the forest is your music; that my friend is a true Vardo Dream.
“Art must evoke an emotion in order to be art. If it only creates indifference then it is not art, it is garbage!” -The GYPSY-
